You're walking outside on a bright moonlit night. There are lots of stars in the sky. You pass by a house that has no lights on inside so it is totally dark inside . people inside the house can see you, but you can't see them. why?

2 reasons:
- your body reflects the incoming moonlight, so it can be seen from inside the house. But there is (nearly) no light, that is reflected from persons inside, so your eyes can't see sth.
- the windows work like a mirror for you outside, because it is dark inside. From inside you can see through w/o problems.

    Ist es drinnen heller als draussen kann man durch die Scheibe ins Innere sehen.Ist es draussen heller, werden die Lichtstrahlen reflektiert , und man sieht nur ein Spiegelbild.

    Dazu kommt, dass in einem theoretisch völlig dunklen Haus kein Licht vorhanden ist, das von den Körpern der Insassen reflektiert werden kann. Somit sieht das Auge nichts.
    Also auch in einem dunklen Haus ohne Fenster würde man niemanden sehen.
